CAEMBA
(Casitas Emergentes de Bambú)
2016

This is the story of Carmen Colorado, a woman who lost everything in Ecuador’s 2016 earthquake and was forced to live in really challenging conditions in a makeshift refuge. CAEMBA helped her to make a progressive elevated house so it doesn’t flood and she has a space to move forward from.

I made this when was 14 years old I went with a school friend (no adults!) to document the story of a humanitarian project helping Ecuador's extremely impoverished 2016 earthquake victims. The project was invited to the Venice Biennale, where my documentary was showcased.
